General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Unfortunately, the use of beta blockers such as atenolol is rarely associated with hair thinning and loss. However, in your case, I should make sure this hair loss is really caused by atenolol. So, if I was your caring doctor would recommend to run dermatoscopy of your scalp, run skin scrapping of the scalp to rule out fungal infection and evaluate the changes of the hair myself.

Apart atenolol, are you also taking any other medication on regular basis? Other meds side effects should be ruled out too. Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
