What Causes Severe Headache After Acoustic Neuroma Removal?

Had a acoustic neuroma removed jan 15th 2013 and if have had bad headaches since. Never had them before and now I m am dying form the pain. Been on so many meds, nerves blocks, botoxs and nothing working. Latest meds has caused me to lose 30 lbs. which is good but still with pain. I would rather have another child then deal with this pain. They wake me up and hit me any time of day. I get about three to five on a bad day. No stress no arguing no shouting no raising my voice because they all bring them on right Away. Don t get emotional because it will set it on too. I an a woken through the night with them and I have to ice my head and take my talets for pain which takes 40 min to kick in. How do I live like this? I have a three year old and two teenagers. I am so stressed and all I do is cry. My husband is trying to hold it together I have seen a specialist in Waltham for treatment but seem I have gone no where.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes, adhesion of nearby muscles to dura causes this type of pain. Cranioplasty with interposition of the bone flap (autologous or bone cement) can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ranjeet Jha, General Surgeon
