What Causes Severe Headache Along With Hallucinations And High BP?

My husband went into the Er 3 days ago with a severe headache, was hallucinating, seeing spots and flashes of light and his BP was 208/135. They got it down to 165/111 and sent him home saying to follow up in a few days with his PCP ( which he doesnt have)....we ended up BACK in the ER last night when he started having chest pains, and his BP was 199/136....they got it down to NORMAL levels FINALLY, but sent him home saying to keep taking the meds they had given him and follow up after the weekend. ....I just got home from work and he is supposed to go into work in an hour, but he just took his BP and AGAIN its 200/135!!! Can he work like that?? He HAS been taking his meds, Lisinopril/ Metroprolol (SP?)

The verdict is out on whether or not high blood pressure can be proven to cause headaches. Some studies indicate that there is no connection, while others show a strong correlation between the two.
