What Causes Severe Headache And Dizziness?

I am a 37 year old women. I am of normal weight, I do not smoke or drink. Sometimes when I get out of my car, even if I have only been driving for 15 minutes, I get a severe pain in my head and dizziness. This only lasts for a minute but it keeps happening.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to orthostatic intolerance or just the change of position.

What are your blood pressure values?

I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and a Heat up Tilt test to exclude possible orthostatic intolerance.

Some blood lab tests (complete blood count, fasting glucose, blood electrolytes) would help exclude other possible causes like chronic anemia, electrolyte imbalance, etc. .

Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
