Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend who is a 62 year old female has had a non-stop headache for the past few days. When she got up this morning, her eye looked different and her mouth drooped a bit on the left side. She is concerned she might have had a stroke...Bells Palsy or something similar. What is the best thing to do medically to handle this situation. Many thanks for your help.
As per your query you have severe headache and droopy mouth on left side of the face which seems probably due to bell's palsy . Bell's palsy is a condition that causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in one side of the face. It could be due to neurological manifestation.
I would suggest you to do mouth stretching exercises and take neurotrophic medications. You should consult neurologist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like diabetic neuropathy and trigeminal neuroptahy . Doctor may conduct various test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe myscle relaxant or anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy , massage or light muscle exercise .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
