What Causes Severe Headache And Vomiting In A Young Adult?

My 24 year old son has a bad headache and is vomiting. It is very warm inside the house, and he has not had any water. He tried taking ibuprofen for the headache, but threw it up. the vomit is watery. How can we relieve his headache? I did just give him a bottle of water to drink. He ate dinner eight hours ago.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Vomiting can be due to indigestion. Accompanying fever suggests infection and headache can be due to dehydration. Firstly, it is important to relieve vomiting by giving Domperidone.

Thereafter dehydration needs to be corrected by giving very light food like soup, coconut water etc. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and to start supportive care. Fever can be relieved by giving an anti-pyretic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
