What Causes Severe Headache While On Nocturnal Dialysis?

Hi. So I m on my over night dialysis doing my treatment. But I have a really bad splitting headache that s just pounding and won t stop. It started Wednesday it it s by far the worst now. It only happens at night. I can t get sleep and I m stuck in my room connected to my machine. Not sure what to do. It s been going on for 6 hours

Hi. The problem with dialysis is that aluminium ions leak over to the blood and probably are the cause of your headache. However, I suggest that you take Tylenol and Advil for this problem and it should immediately go down. This symptom probably happens to most people who take this treatment. Thanks and good luck.
