What Causes Severe Headache?

I experienced a sudden violent headache, excruciating pain. Head felt like wanted to explode, very hot. Took 45 minutes to calm down a fire two aspirin Am I right to be concerned? I am 69 years old and never experienced before and am very fit on no medication at all

Sudden excruciating head ache is a cause of concern. Please visit your doctor to have a Blood pressure check up along with other cardiovascular check up. All the best.
