What Causes Severe Headaches After Receiving A Cortisone Shot?

I received a cortisone injection in my knee mid morning......tonite I have a terrible headache........is this related. When I was younger( 30ys ago) I did suffer from occasional migraines. The headache I have now is not a full blown migraine.....but close

corticosteroids reduce inflammation but in the process increase blood flow which in the head it might cause increased pressure and give headaches similar to nitrates.so your headache is mostly due to cortisone injection and less likely a migraine.
it will gradually decrease in one or two days
