What Causes Severe Headaches And Dizziness?

I am a 65 year old female. I have been experiencing some severe headaches lately. This morning while walking I went completely disoriented dizzy and lost my orientation and fell down. I was told that I am working towards high blood sugar. I have been dizzy off and on this week. I also take metropropol for an extra heart beat. I am about to fly to take care of my grandkids for a few weeks. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Though it is likely not due to a serious condition, it would be best for you to be seen to be assessed by your doctor if there is no previous history of headaches.

Elevated blood sugar does not typically cause headaches and high blood pressure is also usually silent with little or no symptoms.

In many persons, the symptoms may be due to an infection that is usually easily treated or electrolyte disorder, though there are other causes as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
