What Causes Severe Headaches In A Person With Dilated Blood Vessel In Brain?
Hello, my husband is 26 and got diagnosed with a dilated blood vessel in his brain about 2 and a half years ago. This vessel apparently has a very small and slow leak, if I remember correctly. Well my husband still gets really awful headaches. They are not migraines. We ve been through the ringer trying to find out what was going on and a cure for it, with no luck! Once these headaches come on really bad there s no fixing them. We have not been able to find him any relief as of yet. Now, he s had a headache for the last 5 days or so and it varies in intensity. He just had me feel this big, hard and immovable lump ON the actual mastoid bone behind his ear. It s hard as a rock and feels like the bone. He says some of the headache pain is coming from it and he keeps getting sharp pains in the middle of his shoulder blades. I m concerned with his prior history and wondering if I should just take him back into the ER tonight to have another MRI and CT scan done? What are your suggestions here?
The bony prominence over back of ear involving mastoid region is suggestive of osteoma or unusual prominence, but the actual cause of severe headache sounds to be different as there is history of dilated vessel in the brain. Aneurysm or other parameters disturbing the fine homeostasis of the cerebral circulation is of best indicative cause for the same and a latest work up with an MRI will help for sure to find the possible cause and manage accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
