Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an intermittent headache consisting of a dull pain occurring in a small area on the top right of my head, It is an irregular pattern and the pain lasts for a couple of seconds at a time. It goes away for a few minutes and starts again. Started yesterday, Thursday. It is a new feeling. I have been under financial stress for several months with real estate sales and volunteering in homeless issues in my community. Yesterday, a couple of 82 mg aspirin seemed to interrupt it. I take only a 5 mg Quinapril daily. I don t recall a blow to the head. Do have an irregular sleep pattern. I exercise regularly, am 5 10 , consume alcohol very infrequently, eat organic food & will turn 75 in July. The pain is 3 or 4 of 10. Thank you!
I understand your concerns about an unusual headache that you are suffering. Headaches are due to many reasons. Based on your history it appears to be something neurological.
I advise my patients to consult and get a necessary investigation. As you are elderly, I advise to follow up early if the pain does not subside after regular intake or it persists. Many of the pain medications are sedating and some have a risk of bleeding. I advise my patients to take medicines which are prescribed by a physician and not over the counter. I advise getting a neurological consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Azhar Hussain,
