What Causes Severe Headaches?

Hi
I suffer from severe headaches during the day but especially first thing in the morning upon waking and have recently had an MRI scan. happily there was no "pathology in the brain"! But it did pick up on thickening of my sinuses and mastoids, could you explain what this means please?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Brain pathology contribute very little in headache ....
Still its good not having brain pathology...

Here according to report you are having thickened sinuses which is by chronic inflammation leading fibrosis or reactive bone formation....
So you are having chronic sinusitis mostly leading headache ....Your mastoid also involved secondary to it...

So if needed functional sinus surgery or sinus irrigation needed along with course of antibiotic.

Consult ENT surgeon for that ....

Meanwhile steam inhalation done two times daily with added eucalyptus oil in water ..
Peppermint oil inhalation also helpful in sinus ventilation...

Take care .....
