Hello,

You are experiencing GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disorder) which can be easily treated with some medications and eating habits changes.

You may benefit from using omeprazole.
You will need to eat a frequent small amount of food (eat 5-6 small meals then 2-3 big ones).
You should not eat or drink extensively the last 3-4 hours before going to bed.
You may also raise the head of the bed with bricks to reduce reflux.
Avoiding smoking, alcohol, caffeine, spicy food and fast food is helpful as well.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
