What Causes Severe Hip Pain Post A Gallbladder Removal Surgery?

I had my gallbladder removed around 2 months ago. I an currently having pain near my right hip. I really have not what is the change in my diet due to me having to change it due to gallbladder. I have been throwing up bile and gagging quite a bit still. I also still have diarrhea after eating could all of this be pointing towards an issue with my appendix?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Appendicitis may rather cause right flank or right iliac fossa pain not hip pain. Hip pain may be caused by hip osteoarthritis or just a mechanical pain. I will however suggest you see the doctor for examination.

Your pain may not be related to your sugery. As for diarrhea, it is common after gallbladder removal. Exact cause is unknown, but it is generally believed to be as a result of an increase in bile, especially bile acids, entering the large intestine, which may act as a laxative. Just see the doctor for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
