What Causes Severe Insomnia After Switching From Doxepin To Restoril?
I just switched my sleep aid meds from Apo-Doxepin 25mg toRestoril 30mg due to benefit coverage. I have the worst case of insomnia and think I should go to a sleep clinic. I suffer P.T.S.D. and all the other problems that are secondary to the primary. Advice? YYYY@YYYY
It takes around a couple of days for body to get adjusted to the newly changed molecule for receptor level action to take at its highest level.
I would suggest waiting for 3-4 days with a new drug, later if severe insomnia persist, it should switch over back to the previous molecule after discussion with your doc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
