What Causes Severe Itchiness In The Arm?

Have had a prickling feeling in my right arm at the joint of the elbow that changes to itching. It comes and goes, could be a couple days or maybe 2 or 3 times a day. No sign of rash, but itches like crazy. I take several meds but never experienced this before.
