What Causes Severe Itchiness In The Labia Majora?

Dear Sir, On my vagina I got itching specially in the middle of night if I scratch it increases sometimes it happens in day time as well but mostly in the night when I m sleeping. Apart from that I fishing smell there. I m unmarried and not sexually active. I was this area every morning while taking bath with bathing soap.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain severe itching of the vagina especially at night along with fishy smell can be most probably due to Bacterial Vulvovaginitis that is a bacterial infection of vagina and is one of the common cause for bad smell from vagina along with itching..
There is at times associated grey white discharge..

It can also be due to vaginal yeast infection also known as Vaginal Thrush..

For the exact diagnosis consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like vaginal swab culture, Whiff test etc can help in confirmation of cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case of bacterial infection a course of antibiotics oral as well as topical application can be advised..

In case of thrush antifungal oral medications like Fluconazole and topical creams like Clotrimazole and vaginal insert tablets known as Pesseries are also advised..

Keep the area clean and dry..
Wear loose fitting clothes..
Avoid excess moisture accumulation..
In case of thrush take more of probiotics like Yoghurt..
