What Causes Severe Itchiness On The Ear?

i have very itchy ears on the walls of the inside of my ear canals. I scratched these walls with the cotton taken off the cue tips several times.I never get any ear wax when I use cue tips and none comes out when i do an ear wash. My hearing is now muffled. What does this mean?

This means that there may be an infection present.

Infections can be associated with itching in the ears, most commonly fungal infections which can required treatment for a prolonged period of time- 2 to 3 weeks.

Treatment would normally involve anti fungal drops.
