What Causes Severe Itching All Over The Body Along With Oil Secretion On Face?

I have in the last few weeks started to itch all over my body....face is oily patches in the t zone, rest dry....arms, legs, back, vaginal area etc all dry scaly but not hives or red breakouts. I lost a friend to similiar issues about 18 months ago and he had developed cancer. I have had a pre-dispostion for cancer (external dysplasia twice VIN1 & 2) , benigned lumps in my breast, and endmetriosis. The itching can be most any/all times, but primarily at night the worst. I ve changed fabric softeners, detergents, body wash, shampoos etc. It s beginning to be very intolerable...keeps me from resting/sleeping. There are some scaly patches that were checked two years ago by a local derm Dr. She said nothing to worry about, but the get very itchy, if I scratch they will flake or peel layers off...some normal skin color others darker.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query severe itching all over the body along with oil secretion on face which is because of clogging of skin pores with bacteria, debris and sebum and skin has increased sensitivity of getting pigmented. It is due to poor and compromised immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cream rich in Azelaic acid or Kojic acid. Apply on face twice daily. It will lighten pigmentation on skin. You should use medicated sunscreen such as Tancare rich in SPF 30. You can visit dermatologist once and can go for chemical peeling or micro abrasion if your symptoms not resolving. Take supplements rich in vitamin C. Avoid applying any hard cosmetics on face.
