What Causes Severe Itching And Redness In Palms And Feet Post Food Intake?

After my evening meal today I started having severe itching of my hands and feet with redness. I felt hot and my heart racing. I was experiencing stomach pain with diarrhea and some wheezing. It,s been a few hours now and I feel better, but my hands still itch a little. I thought maybe food allergy, but I have eaten the foods I had today before with no problem. Could it still be the food?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of sudden occurrence of itching and redness in palms and feet along with feeling of hot flushes and heart palpitations is most commonly due to Allergic reaction to any of the constituents of food that has caused allergic reaction..
Although you might have taken the same foods previously also but there can be some of the ingredient that has been new or toxic causing allergic reaction..

Nothing to worry, you can take anti allergic medicine like Cetrizine or Fexofenadine[allegra] for resolving allergy symptoms..
Apply calamine lotion to soothe the itchy skin..

In case if there is a repeated episode of same symptoms in future consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can advise you to get a blood test done for allergic testing and preventing exposure to the allergen will relieve the symptoms..
