What Causes Severe Itching In The Hands And Feet While On Augmentin?

I am taking augmentin. It was prescribed by my local hospital for treatment of several dog bites. I m also taking cymbalta and a statin. I have been on the augmentin for a few days. I m experiencing severe itching in my hands, feet and genital area. Please advise

Hi,

As per your query you have severe itching in the hands and feet while on Augmentin which could be due to allergic reaction related to side effects of drugs.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take plenty of water and apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide cream at the affected sites. You should visit a dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take a tablet of cetirizine for symptomatic relief from itching.
