What Causes Severe Itching In Throat?

I have severe itching...can this be lisinopril (which I ve been taking for about 5 months now). This itching occurred within the last 2 hrs. Don t know if I should stop taking this immediately. I take only 5 mg but can t relieve the itching, even with benedryl. (I am a 68 yr old female).
