What Causes Severe Itching On The Forearms?

My husband has a severe itchiness in his forearms after a recent trip to Mexico. He has been tested for a fungal infection and it was negative. He will have to go to a dermatologist, but in the meantime he is suffering a lot. Is there anything he could do, beyond going to the Emergency dept at the hospital?

Hello,
He may have encountered some sort of parasite causing the itching. He needs to be tested but in the meantime he could try 25 to 50 mg of benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the itching
