What Causes Severe Itching Sensation And Swelling In Vagina After Having Intercourse?

I began to notice my vaginal area becoming very itchy one nite, as any itch I scratched it and continued to scratch. After a few moments it went away. Again I noticed it began to itch so again I scratched it, went to use the restroom and noticed that my hood is extremely swollen and a 1/5 on the pain level when touched. Three days prior to all of this happening, I did experience intercourse with my boyfriend. Doesn't hurt when I sit or seem to bother me threw out the day, only at nite when laying down does it began to itch. Could this be the beginning of a yeast infection?

Hi,
I have read your query & understand your concern.
Itching & swelling of vagina can be due to Bacterial vaginosis/ Sexually transmitted diseases ( Chalamidia, genital warts,trichomoniasis, Gonorrhea)/ yeast infection./ Allergy to cosmetics, condom
For pointing out the exact cause , you need to consult a gynecologist followed by vaginal swab test ( id advised ) &specific treatment will follow.
For sexually transmitted disease, both sex partners need to be treated.
Till then .. maintain vaginal hygiene
Apply Anti trichoinosis ointment with betamethasone.
