What Causes Severe Itching Under The Waist And Legs After Treating Shingles?

I had shingles a long time ago. Since then, periodically i get severe itching from waist down, mostly back of legs and calves. The itch causes some pain and burning, almost feels like nerve endings. Could last a couple of days, then goes away like it came. Sometimes i take the pills i was given to treat shingles and it seems to help. Could this be a long term reaction from shingles?

you have post shingles neuralgia. This is the after effects of shingles. The virus that causes shingles remains dormant in your nerves and reactivates when your immune system is low. you should also get screened for diabetes.
