What Causes Severe Itching?

My son has a extreme itching issue. Has been to every doctor I can think of. It is taking over his life. HE has a family and is trying to work, care for them without sleep. Do you have any suggestions? We need answers and no one has any yet. He is never sick or takes medication.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe itching which could be due to fungal infection mainly Tinea, as it localizes on body folds. It could be due to allergic reaction and contact dermatitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start oral tablets of Terbinafine for 1 week. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites.You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
