I suffer from continual itchy arms. At times they itch so bad I scratch till they bleed. I take Effexor 75 mg/ buprofen 150 togather for anxiety and OCD. I also take levothyroxine, doxycycline, omoprizole, Vit B complex and estrace. I ve been on the Effexor for over 12 years and added the buprofen a couple years ago. (Hoping to increase my libido). Should I stop the buprofen? The itching is far worse then very minor libido benefit. The itching has actually reduced our marital intimacy. I also get constipated more easily now.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe itchy arms which seems to be due to infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis/ boil or carbuncle. It could be due to blockage of skin pores with bacteria and sebum. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to clean that area properly with antimicrobial agent. Use of corticosteroid ointment is helpful. Your symptoms will start resolving in 3-5 days. If it keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once to find out any hidden cause for your symptoms. Apply little pressure on that area with cotton dipped in warm water to ooze out the pus properly. Apply betadine over it. Take antibiotics orally to prevent further infection. Use calamine lotion on that to resolve itchiness .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
