What Causes Severe Itchy Bumps On Chest, Chin And Abdomen?

I have extreme itching associated with bumps under the skin which develop into pimple like bumps on the surface of the skin. The itching started in the chest area. The itching has now progressed to under the chin, under the arms, abdomen area, on both upper and lower legs and around the groin area. Symptoms started approximately 2 days ago. Currently being treated with Calamine lotion and anti itching cream. Approximately an hour ago took 2 Benadryl tablets.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have an allergic reaction to some unknown allergen and can be due to a number of reasons like due to exposure of skin to certain irritants like detergents, skin cosmetics, soaps etc leading to Contact Dermatitis..
It can also be due to allergic reaction to any food or medication, poison ivy, leather, latex etc...
Other cause of itching and bumps can be due to mite infestation causing Scabies while can also be due to hair follicle infection known as Folliculitis..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and along with a clinical examination he can also advise you blood tests to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly..
In case of allergic rwaction you can be given anti allergics like Allegra or Levocetrizine along with steroids and in severe cases injectable steroids can be given..
Topical application of steroid lotion and cool compresses can he advised..
In case of Scabies topical application of Premethrin lotion and oral Ivermectin can be given along with anti allergics tO relieve itching..
In case of Folliculitis oral antibiotics, steroids, anti allergics along with topical application of antibiotic and steroid ointment can be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
