What Causes Severe Itchy/dry/crusty Nipples With Blisters On Arms/leg/back?

For the past month or so, my nipples have been itching like crazy. They get dry and crusty and then twice so far they start oozing fluid. I have other spots on my body that have formed blisters and itch. In other places like my arms, legs, and back there are small bumps that itch a lot. I know of nothing I have changed lately, but my skin is usually pretty dry. I am a 61 year old man in fairly good health. Any idea what might be going on?

Hi there,

The itchy and dry skin you are experiencing might be related to eczema or fungal infection. I advise to get a lab test of the skin scrapings (KOH 10%) to exclude fungal infection.

You can discuss the results with a dermatologist to get the best treatment strategy for your skin problems.

It is important to:
- avoid too-hot tube-bathes
- use always gentle soaps (hydrating)
- dry your skin well after bathing
- apply always moisturizing cream locally after bathing

Hope it helped!
