What Causes Severe Joint Pain In An Elderly Person?
I have suddenly began experiencing severe paint in my larger joints or muscles. It comes on suddenly, last for 6 to 18 hours and disappears...from that joint. But it is moving around - first the R. knee, then the right wrist, then left shoulder, elbow and wrist, now R elbow. The neck has a steady, never ending pain. Any ideas what is causing this? I am a 64 y.o. male, generally good health, tho 30 lbs overweight.

What Causes Severe Joint Pain In An Elderly Person?
Hello, As per your history, it may be due to osteoarthritis. For further assessment kindly do X Ray of affected joints, RA factor, anti CCP after consultation. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel locally. Heating pads will also help. Use knee cap. Use support while walking. Avoid forward bending and squatting position Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further... Regards, Dr Shyam Kale
