What Causes Severe Knee Discomfort After A Tibial Fracture On The Amputated Leg?
I am a bk amputee. I had a skiing accident that resulted in a non displaced tibial plateau fracture on the amputated leg. It was determined that the injury did not require surgery, and I stayed off the leg until the OS said i should start PT. I am in my 5th week of PT, and my range of motion is fairly close. A week ago, the OS said I could resume normal activity after my last x-ray. However, there is discomfort in trying to get full extension while walking, and it feels like the knee is hyperextending. Also, the kneecap just doesn t look quite right - almost like it is out of place. Should I be concerned yet?
