What Causes Severe Lower Abdominal Pain?

I started having pain on the lower right side of my stomach yesterday afternoon. I thought I had pulled a muscle by driving our truck and using the brake in heavy traffic. Also, I picked up and moved a heavy piece of furniture. The pain was worse by late that evening. I had sharp pain, for a few minutes and stopped. I pressed down on the area and it would hurt again. I am still having pain off and on and continue to hurt when I press down on the area. I had my left ovary removed twenty years ago, but I m not sure if my right ovary was removed. I had a colonoscopy test done a few months ago. I called the doctor today to set up an appointment. I am really worried. My doctor is booked for the next few weeks. I am thinking of going to emergency if it gets worse. What do you think?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM.

Noted you have lower severe abdominal pain frequently...

According your history you can have yes muscular strain of abdominal muscle...
So take rest ...
Avoid strenous muscular exercise..
Avoid movement that causes pain...
Hot compress can be applied...
Analgesic taken for pain....

If your pain getting worse then intestinal causes suspected.
For that USG and if needed endoscopic or colonoscopic examination needed to investigate further...

If you have anorexia with vomittimg like sensation then for chronic abdominal pain widal test done for typhoid...
Enteritis or colitis can lead such pain....

You can keep these approach in mind while consulting your doc.
