What Causes Severe Menstrual Cramps In The Lower Abdomen?
Hi, I m a 23 year female, and I started my menstrual cycle today which was on schedule, but for the first time ever my cramps are extremely severe. The pain is almost unbearable and is just getting worse as time passes. The pain is spread through my whole lower abdomen, all the way up back, and shoots down into my thighs & even into my calves. I noticed about 30 minutes ago that my abdomen started swelling up really quick and it s getting more and more swollen. I can t walk or move much because the pain gets too extreme. I also noticed that I m not even bleeding heavy at all. Please tell me if this is something I should treat as an emergency or wait out and see if it gets better. Thank you.
Hi, I think you should do a urine pregnancy test at home if you are sexually active. If negative, it can be a menstrual symptom. Take some pain killers and antacids. If test is positive or faintly positive, consult a gynecologist immediately and get a ultrasound done to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
