What Causes Severe Migraine Headache And Vomiting?

my husband is 48 yrs old, and he has always had migraines but today his pain level has been consistently over bearing and he has been vomiting since noon today? i took him to quick care they took his vitals and prescribed him midrin which he took one at 8:30 pm tonight and no relief…what do i do?n

Hello
While most headaches are painful and not dangerous, this particular headache, although it may be just the worst migraine he's ever had, warrants an MRI scan of his brain to rule out an intracranial bleeding.

He needs to be in the ER now.

If the MRI is normal, the ER physician can give him medication to relieve the pain
