What Causes Severe Migraines And Night Sweats While On Aleve And Synthroid?
I m 55 & still having regular periods. in the past 3 months, I ve had a few bouts of severe migraines. I understand that I m perimenapausal . I ve woken up feeling HOT & had have 2 nights w night sweats. More recently I ve had a few bouts of chills , fatique but the one that concerns me the most is an actual low grade fever from time to time. the fever responds to Aleve & rest. sometimes I feel like I just have a fall allergy with a slight non productive cough. I m still working full time & I just seem to tire easily. I attribute it to not sleeping well. All in all, I feel I m probably just peri-menapausal but the slight low grade fever seems more than a hot flash. No blood in urine or feces. I take Synroid 75mg for hyopthroid , Imitrex for migtaines & Aleve for body aches, fever etc. I take flax seed, & Vitamin B2 daily.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you seem to be perimenopausal and the migraine is not because of drugs in this case but due to impending menopause.
I would like you to consult your gynaecologist and get some baseline hormonal studies done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
