What Causes Severe Mood Swings With Emotional Outbursts?
I need help finding a medication that can help me control my irrational mood swings and out of control anger. I ve been in therapy for 2 years of and on. I ve tried cognitive behavior therapy to help me deal with the issues I m having but nothing seems to work. I very close friend mentioned medication and I ve always been against being medicated. I feel it will label me as a crazy person that needs meds to function. My husband can t deal with my temper and mood swings and says it s not normal. I snap at the smallest things and I can go from 0-60 in seconds. I can t explain it. I try so hard and nothing I do seems to work. It happens so fast I don t realize I m flying of the handle till it s too late. Please tell me there s something out there for me.
Hi.Understanding your concern.Do not worry .Emotional outbursts are somewhere in every person but it becomes a problem when it happens frequently.There may be an underlying cause to it like some neurotransmitters hormone (serotonin,norepinephrine),or other post menopausal hormonal imbalance.I suggest you to go for a short term medication course with a good psychiatrist.Do not depend completely on medication .Do some recreational activities in your daily life.Do the things which you love which may involve investing some money also.can go for a long drive.Eat a balanced diet and involve juices and whole some fruits.can also join a yoga class.talk to your partner,he will surely help you. At last if you don't want to take medicine at all then you can try a herb known as ginseng (Chinese herb)known to help in mood swings disorders.
