What Causes Severe Muscle Spasms In Left Side Of The Body And Foot?
I am having extreme muscle spasms in the left side of my body, from left hip to foot. Am under the care of doc, took imaging test last week but othing observed. Muscle spasms still occur, even with muscle relaxers and pain pills. What can I do at home to minimize the pain?
As you have taken the imaging test last week and nothing in particular is observed and also the muscle relaxers and pain pills do not work you need to undergo a thorough clinical neurological assessment.
A spasm is a sudden involuntary contraction of a muscle, a group of muscles, or a hollow organ such as the heart. A spasmodic muscle contraction may be caused by many medical conditions, including dystonia. Most commonly, it is a muscle cramp which is accompanied by a sudden burst of pain
Also, performing some general exercises should help reduce some spasm post the neurological examination as well.
In my clinical practice, such cases undergo thorough neurological examination and post which physical therapy is recommended.
