What Causes Severe Nausea, Loss Of Appetite, Cough And Fatigue?

I have been extremely nauseous for the past 2 weeks. Sometimes to the point where if I put food up to my mouth I gag. Loss of appetite. This hacking cough. Fatigue. Not sure what to do because the symptoms developed gradually and seem unrelated. Also my tonsils are swelling and lumpy with little light spots.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are in keeping with an upper respiratory tract infection, fatigue can occur with these infections.

They are usually viral.

In most persons, the symptoms last 1 to 3 weeks. Rest, fluids, paracetamol and cough and cold meds (usually over the counter), would be helpful to reduce your symptoms till the infection resolves.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
