What Causes Severe Nerve Pain In Leg?

I had a heart cath. done 2 and a half months ago, leg pain is so bad. Went back to hospital and doctor said it might be the nerve in my leg, will go away with time. I'm leaving on Advill 4 tablets every 6 hours, without it I can't stand the pain. Can you tell me what to do?
