Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get like a numbness (not tingling) in my hands (and sometimes lower arms) upon first awakening in the mornings lately. It goes away within a minute when I start moving around and does not bother me for the rest of the day. This symptom has become more frequent lately. I do drink alcohol; but, not excessively lately.
Alcohol can hinder the absorption of vitamin B12 which is responsible for maintaining good vascular health. Get your vitamin B12 levels checked and accordingly either initiate an oral supplement or injections.
Best wishes.
