I had a back problem that seemed to send a numbness down my lower back around my front on the left side into my groin out the front of my shin into my toes- I have gotten two adjustments from the Dr. and I still have the numbness in my foot and toes- I can walk ok but I cannot lift my toes on my left foot- any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you explain seem typical of a nerve pinch. This can happen at the root of the nerve as it comes out of the spine or on its way down the leg.

It is generally not dangerous, even though it may be uncomfortable. I would advise you to have a check with your doctor to have a thorough neurological exam and also check for muscle waist.

If there are no abnormalities on examination, the doctor may refer you to a physiotherapist to help with the nerve pinch.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
