What Causes Severe Pain Above The Right Knee?

my wife has giant cell arteritis and is on prednisone for about 8 weeks. She was started on actemra 11 days ago. She has no pulse in her arms and a pulse in her left leg. Yesterday she woke up with pain above her right knee and in her calf. She has a limp and intermittent shooting pain above and below the right knee. should we seek medical attention today or is ok to follow up with her specialist tomorrow

Thanks for the query.
It can be an early sign of arthritis as the chances for developing arthritis is significantly higher in patients taking long term steroids.
As of now she can take analgesics like tramdol KT acetaminophen for pain relief and take adequate rest.
If pain persists, bette to consult an orthopaedician and get an MRI scan done.Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
