Hello, my husband had all of his teeth removed almost four weeks ago . The dentist said they would shave his protruding bones during surgery. Our dentist had an emergency and they called in another dentist who removed the teeth but did not perform the alveoplasty. This last Friday his dentist opened him back up along both top and bottom gums to do the alveoplasty. He is in incredible pain and it goes up into his sinus area. Is this normal?

Thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. The pain in the jaw is normal after a sugical procedure particularly after bone cutting. Nothing to worry complete the course of antibiotics and analgesics. When you go to get the sutures remove check for any sharp bony edges. If there are any sharp margins then get it smoothened. Do saline gargling. i hope my answer will help you. Take care.
