What Causes Severe Pain After Tubal Ligation?

Hello my name is Amanda! I m not sure if you need to know this...but just in case...After my 3rd baby I decided to get the IUD birth control but unfortunately in less than 24 hours had to have an emergency surgery to remove it bc my OB did not put it in correctly there for it was causing me excruciating pain because it was migrating. It tore a hole through my uterine wall and was headed for my intestines (that s what the doctor told me anyway) and he also said I was lucky that it didn t cause more damage and if I would have waited another day it would have reached my intestines and been A LOT worse. Ok now on to my question. After my 4th baby I decided to get a tubal ligation by clamping my tubes with fishie clips. Ever since then I have had so much pain mostly a stabbing kind of intense pain ESPECIALLY when I move certain ways. I hope this isn t too much info but I can t even be with my husband in bed because it hurts waaaaay to bad. Ok now my question is if these clamps are causing me that much pain every day would a doctor take them off and out?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the intense pain is related most likely
to clips or possible inflammation at the tubal, ovarian ligament parts.

* I would recommend to undertake a CT scan of the abdomen & pelvis
for final management guidelines.

Thanks.
