hello, ectopic pregnancy would have sided lower abdominal pain. Pain would worsen when touching the abdomen specially over the affected side. when the ectopic ruptures it cause severe sided pain initially and later generalized whole abdominal pain. ruptured ectopic will have exaggerated abdominal signs like severe pain on pressing the abdomen . a person would have sweating with faintishness and vomiting also. Usually ectopic starts showing symptoms when the fetus is about 5_8 wks from last menstrual period. but that is not a definite fact. because certain ectopic pregnancy ruptures and show symptoms even before patient miss a period. if you have any doubts better to get serum beta hcg or ultrasound abdomen done . But as you have said about small ovarian cyst, another possibility is ovarian cyst twisted around it s pedicle.
