What Causes Severe Pain And Numbness In Knee Post Arthoscopic Knee Surgery?

I had athroscopic knee surgery 4 days ago. I cannot extend my leg and it feels like my knee is going to explode if I do. I previously had a bakers cyst in the back of my knee and it feels like its back. Should I be concerned? I also have a little numbness by one of the incisions

Hello and welcome.

The arthroscopic knee surgery was for a meniscectomy? If so, then you should start feeling better soon after the surgery. Arthroscopy helps remove debris and the torn meniscus, and help improve chondromalacia to a certain extent.

There can be some amount of effusion for a while, which can make it feel swollen, but this should settle in about 24 hours. Do speak to your treating doctor about the same, although I strongly feel it should subside soon.

Best wishes.
