What Causes Severe Pain And Redness On The Joint Of Big Toe?

I woke up this morning and have joint pain in my big toe on my right foot. I have never had gout but the pain is pretty severe. There is some redness on the side of the joint. I am recovering from two back surgeries within 9 days and have been very careful with food since I have had diarrhea for the last 4 weeks. I am working with my internist on that problem but is there a home remedy to help the toe pain?

I really appreciate your concern, the pain symptom of toe could be due to arthritis but gout need to be ruled out too even if there is no history you have till then you can have Tab Diclofenac 50 mg sustain release once in day hope this information helps.
