What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling In Cheek And Head Post Trauma?

super embarrassed but about 5 days ago a supermarket door opened on my face as I was entering. I don't quite understand but it hit me so hard that I pulled a muscle in my chest/armpit and rushed to the bathroom because I thought I was bleeding. When i looked at my cheek, I had two large dents down my face where door hit me. These dents quickly went away as the swelling took over. The initial pain was above cheek on my head - very tingling sensation and tons of pressure. I don't believe door hit me there, but the pain is now on cheek but head still too. Reminds me of a concussion. Could this be possible. It's not getting better so making an appointment tomorrow...I have high deductible and no money so was hoping it would just get better

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that there has been severe traumatic injury leading to soft tissue trauma and causing inflammation of soft tissues and swelling..
Swelling is due to inflammation of soft tissues and also accumulation of inflammatory fluid..
Pain in forehead and pressure can be due to swelling and pain while it can also be due to mild concussion..
As you do not have any other symptoms like dizziness, nausea, vertigo, vomiting etc, the chances are less probable of having a brain injury..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
You can do cool compresses over the cheek as well as forehead..
In case if you get the symptoms as described above that can indicate brain injury immediately consult an Emergency room and they can refer you to Neurologist and an MRI, CT scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
