What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling In The Hand?

Yesterday I woke up with my left hand in great pain. The knuckle of my pinky and ring finger are very swollen red and painful. I thought at first I slept with it in a award potion but this is the second day. The swollen area is very tight and still painful but I can now move my other finders slightly. I am not sure if this is from a bug bite or something else. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to arthritis.

I recommend you to do some examinations such as :
a complete blood level,
rheumatoid factor level, and
PCR level.

Meanwhile, I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication for the pain and swelling such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
